What should be done?

I'm coming back to blogger lyfe bcos apparently I need somewhere to vent out and it seems like I can't find anyone to be my thought's trash bin, hehe...

So I have this thought: I came to realisation that we need more than just love to make a relationship work: communication, compromise, the understanding that both parties need to make it work, etc. But the question is; how do we know that; "Oh it's the right time, the right person, to start to work on it."?
Or it's actually something that you find out, while trying?

The case is, currently there's someone I'm considering to make it work with.

So have I moved on from someone who has been in my mind this whole 6 years yet? Actually not yet, but I believe it's also a work-in-progress. I haven't fully understood that all the feelings I have actually just my mere imagination of him. Even if I could be with him, there would be still much much work to do to make the relationship last. And it's not just my responsibilities, him as well, but considering it's just me who try to contact him all this time, I should acknowledge that it's indeed one-sided. And it won't work. Ever.

Back to the topic.

So there's this person. I didn't have any expectation of him at first. I didn't specifically interested to this person as well at first. We work together and we have good chemistry in work, but that's all. We have never talked much about anything not work-related before. But maybe, just maybe, something deep inside my mind know that this person is nice and could be considered to be a partner. It might be why I joked around him calling him like how couples do, and talked to him more.

All I did was intended as jokes, but recently I found out that he indeed liked it. I could feel the difference, seriously, even when he made it sound like a mere joke. I was kinda anxious actually, like any other time I found out someone like me but I didn't find myself having the same feeling.

Not knowing what to do, I asked two of my girl friends at work, and they guessed him correctly. And persuaded me to just try to be closer to him. According to them, he's nice and smart, which I did also think like that. One of them actually said; "You did do know what to do by yourself, right? You just need our validation." Then again, it might be like that deep inside my mind.

After the realisation, I tried to be closer to him, but sneakily. It didn't work out. We had so many miscommunication which made my moody-self came out again. I talked to one of my best friends and she said "It's hard, I think communication is important for a relationship."

But part of me still left wondering: Didn't it work? Or it's just me who thought that? It's not fair to just left it to my own consideration while I have no idea how is it in other person's mind, right?

So I asked one of my other friends, "What if, someone tried to be closer to you, but you didn't find that person share the same frequency to yours?", he answered, "Then you should try to find other way to make it work. If you always try to find someone suitable to you, you will need years or even more than that."

And then here I am, at midnight wondering once again, if I should give that person chance to make it work, together.
Should I try to sit with him, asking what he expects from me and whether it's the same as what I expect from him?
Should I explain how hard is it to handle someone like me, if he really does like me?
And should I share things that currently going on in my mind, that might or not, affect his perception of me?

I think I need some more insights from my besties to decide what to do next. In the meantime, this post is to clear my mind off. Thank you, my blog!
